About Portrush Adelphi

The Adelphi occupies a handsome Victorian building a short walk from Portrush harbour and was reopened after a full restoration by Marine and Lawn Hotels, the group behind a small collection of properties beside championship links courses. The design leans into that heritage without becoming a museum: bold colour, club-room panelling, golfing prints and heavy fabrics, with the scale kept intimate rather than corporate.

Rooms are individually finished, generally quiet given the town-centre position, and geared towards couples and pairs of golfers rather than large families. The bar and restaurant are open to non-residents and have become a fixture of Portrush evenings, with a menu built around local seafood and grilled meats and a drinks list that takes Irish whiskey seriously.

Royal Portrush Golf Club, host of The Open in 2019 and 2025, is a few minutes away, and Portstewart and Castlerock links are both within a short drive. For non-golfers the appeal is simply position: the East and West strands, the harbour restaurants and the railway station are all walkable, and Dunluce Castle, Bushmills and the Giant's Causeway are inside twenty minutes by car. Expect rates at the upper end of the coast, particularly during tournament weeks and in high summer.

I liked the location. It is a good hotel. Nothing amazing, but definitely not bad. Great service!!! I would not likely stay again because I'd try something new. I definitely give it a solid ok. Better if our room had been cleaner when we arrived.

We stayed at the Portrush Adelphi during our golf tour along the North Coast, and it is an absolutely ideal choice for golfers. The main and undeniable advantage of the hotel is its fantastic location right in the heart of Portrush. The legendary Royal Portrush Golf Club is literally just a couple of minutes' drive away, and all the best local restaurants, pubs, and the waterfront are within easy walking distance. The logistics for a golf group couldn't have been more convenient. The hotel itself is very cozy, clean, and comfortable. The rooms are well-appointed, offering everything you need to fully relax and get a good night's sleep after a demanding day on the links. Special thanks go to the hotel staff for their incredible friendliness, responsiveness, and genuine Irish hospitality. They truly understand the specifics of golf tourism, are always ready to help with any organizational matters, recommend the best spots in town, and make your stay completely hassle-free. The breakfasts are excellent—hearty, delicious, and provide the perfect energy boost before heading out to the tee box. If you are planning a golf trip to Northern Ireland and are looking for a comfortable, friendly place with a perfect location, Portrush Adelphi is a 100% match. We will definitely be back!

Hosted a dinner in the private dining room of the Portrush Adelphi that was absolutely wonderful. Devon, the manager, was able to clearly coordinate the whole thing with us even from abroad! When it came to the night of, Abby and the whole team had us taken care of with the most attentive service we could ask for! Will definitely try to stay at the hotel the next time we’re back!

We had breakfast every morning and a group dinner one night. The food and service was top notch. A really good venue if your golfing in Port Rush, definitely recommend it.
