Pansi is a modernised barn conversion on a quiet holiday complex near Aberaeron, on the Ceredigion coast. The property sits on the ground floor, making it accessible and easy to move around. It sleeps up to six across two bedrooms: a master with a super king bed and ensuite, and a second with bunks, a single and a pull-out single, also with its own bathroom. The open-plan living space has a wood-burning stove, smart TV and patio doors opening onto the garden.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. Essentials like electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. Outside is a private garden with seating, barbecue and space to sit out. A private parking area accommodates four cars.

The site has facilities shared with other properties: a 16-metre heated indoor pool with a jacuzzi section, sauna, steam room and gym. The hot tub seats six and is also communal. No smoking is allowed in the property. This setup suits families wanting self-catering independence with access to on-site leisure facilities, or groups wanting a comfortable base near the coastal towns and countryside of mid-Wales.

Unfortunately, our experience at Nantsidyll was extremely disappointing, mainly because of the way we were treated by the manager. We booked our accommodation through Booking.com and travelled by car from Chester with our family. We arrived at approximately 11:00 pm. When we arrived, we could not even enter the property. We rang the doorbell and spoke to the manager by telephone from outside. He told us that there had been an error with the Booking.com price and that we would have to pay an additional £214 if we wanted to stay. The manager told us that he would come from his home to open the property if we agreed to pay the additional amount. We were left waiting outside for approximately 1.5 hours with our family late at night. Eventually, we had no choice but to accept the additional charge. Around 15 minutes later, the manager arrived by car from his home, took the additional payment and allowed us into the property. Only after making the additional payment were we able to enter and get into our room. What makes this even more concerning is that I checked Booking.com on the same day and the room price had not changed. The property later told us that there had been a “system error”. We were also required to pay a £150 security deposit. The manager specifically told me that if I paid this by bank transfer, it would be returned to me on Monday. I made the bank transfer immediately based on what I was told. Today is 20 August and I still have not received my £150 back. The swimming pool issue The manager told us that we were entitled to one hour of pool use per day. Because we arrived late on the first night, we spoke to a lady at reception the following morning. She told us that, because we had not been able to use the pool on the first day, we could use two hours that day. However, when we later decided to use the pool, the same manager came back and insisted that we should have used our one hour the previous day and that we could only use one hour that day. We explained that the receptionist had told us we could use two hours. The manager's response was: “She is under me. What I say is what counts.” He eventually “allowed” us to use 1.5 hours, which felt almost ridiculous. What made this even more frustrating was that the pool was completely empty for most of the day. In the end, we did not even use the pool for the full time we were supposedly allowed. The manager's attitude The biggest problem with this property was not the accommodation itself, but the manager's attitude and manner towards us. After the experience on our arrival, I told the manager that I only wanted to stay for one night and move to another hotel the following day. This was also not accepted. My family and I had a very unpleasant and stressful experience. I would strongly suggest that the owners/managers of Nantsidyll reconsider how this property is being managed and, in particular, how guests are treated. In my opinion, the current manager's attitude and customer service do not do justice to the property, its location or its potential. This is a beautiful part of Wales and the accommodation has potential, but the way we were treated completely spoiled our stay. I cannot say whether other guests have experienced the same situation, but this is exactly what happened to us. I would strongly recommend confirming the final price, all additional charges and the terms of all facilities in writing before travelling to this property.

We had the most wonderful stay at Nantsidyll recently. The location is absolutely stunning, and the lodge itself is incredible, the air con was a lifesaver during a much hotter than usual week. The pool area and relaxation suite looked beyond what we expected and we can’t wait to make full use of them next time we stay. Waking up to animals roaming around was such a lovely, peaceful sight every morning. But what really made our trip special was the staff. They’re all amazing, but Louise is an absolute angel. She went (so far) above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and cared for, we genuinely left feeling like part of the family. Thank you so much! We’ll be back soon!

*Lovely stay in Wales!* Had a great weekend here with a group of 5 friends. The chalet was very nice and modern, featuring comfortable beds, a large TV, a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher/washer included), and great bathrooms with plenty of fluffy towels. The outdoor patio with the pub-style table, BBQ, and beautiful flower pots was perfect for relaxing. Just a heads-up for future guests: the pool, hot tub, and saunas are chargeable, but you do get 1 hour of complimentary private use per chalet. We had a slight booking mix-up with our slot, but the incredibly friendly staff went out of their way to let us use it after hours. The kids' playground and the chance to visit the animals (emus, pigs, goats, and more!) were wonderful additions. The site is new (about a year old) with minor, non-disruptive work ongoing. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely return!

Where do I start!! This was a very last minute booking but I am so glad we chose to stay here for the Easter weekend. The staff were so welcoming and anything you needed they were always around. The accommodation was lovely and all the facilities they had to offer were 5 star. We had a complimentary pack which included fresh chicken eggs, bottle of wine, biscuits, grapes and oranges :) I would definitely recommend Nantsydyll farm and spa. Thank you for having us this weekend, you have all been amazing and we will definitely be returning. :)
