Swallows Barn Cottage
Cheshire East
Swallows Barn Cottage has three bathrooms—one for every bedroom, plus a ground-floor cloakroom—which is unusual enough to matter when four people are sharing. The cottage itself is a brick-built farmhouse property with an open-plan ground floor combining living and dining space, a separate kitchen with electric cooking, and a utility room housing a washer-dryer. Upstairs, one bedroom has two single beds and an ensuite bath with shower; the other, a double with its own shower cubicle. Both have Freeview television. The sitting area has a 40" TV with Freesat, DVDs and a DVD player.
The location sits between farmland, with the Peak District hills to one side and the Cheshire Plain stretching away on the other. Walking starts from the gate—across fields, up Bosley Cloud, or along the Macclesfield Canal with its famous twelve-lock flight. Woodland trails through Macclesbie Forest and the dramatic stone outcrops at the Roaches are within a short drive, as are the market towns of Leek, Macclesfield and Congleton. There is a pub less than a mile away. A bike store and parking for up to four cars comes with the cottage; electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. Smoking is not permitted inside.
