About Wolford Wood
Tucked into a hundred acres of mature woodland just outside Moreton-in-Marsh, Wolford Wood trades manicured pitches and hookups for something altogether wilder. Campers pitch on a large open meadow beside the trees, with fire pits, outdoor cooking and miles of woodland trails on the doorstep – the sort of genuinely rustic setup that appeals to those who prefer a canvas bag to a caravan awning. Facilities are deliberately pared back: outdoor hot showers, clean portable loos and washing-up points, but no electric, wifi or shop, so stock up in Moreton or Chipping Campden before you arrive.
A handful of simple cabins and group shelters offer a roof for those who want one, and dogs are welcome throughout (the owners' own wander the site). Open fires are actively encouraged rather than merely tolerated. The site runs year-round, including over Christmas and New Year – unusual for a woodland tent site and a genuine draw when most Cotswolds campsites have shuttered for winter. Popular with wedding parties and small gatherings as well as solo campers seeking peace among the trees.

What visitors say
I would not recommend this campsite. The amenities are pretty poorly maintained for the price you’re paying for. There was frequently no hot water for showers and so we had to take cold showers in May. For “conservation” purposes they are also not allowed to cut the grass? The grass is up to your knees so when it’s raining/ in the mornings your shoes and feet just completely end up being soaked and it’s just becomes overall really unpleasant having wet feet and trousers for the entire time you’re there. Especially It also operates on a no waste system so you have to take all your rubbish away yourself. Apparently all these policies are for sustainability reasons but honestly it just made the entire trip really unpleasant and uncomfortable. For the price you pay you might as well go somewhere with much better amenities. I do not recommend this place at all. Oh and you can’t park next to the pitch so get ready to spend 20 minutes carrying all your stuff in wheel barrows through the long wet grass

As you will have seen in other posts the owner was extremely rude and dismissive when I called up (which tallys up to other reviews). Was keen to stay as the ratings seemed good. Was simply asking about whether the car could enter or would need to walk over (as mentioned on one of the websites). The guy couldn't have been less helpful. I decided to go to a different site as a result. Really surprised by the tone of the owner. No service from me thanks and clearly other customers have said the same. Looked like a nice place to camp.

Extremely rude man with a pink face in a matching pink shirt was our first encounter. Think the chap is in the wrong line of business! Horrible start to a weekend with family. Family were lovely. Pink man, atrocious.

A lovely campsite in a quiet location perfect for a weekend away! The owners were so lovely and made us feel right at home, and even allowed us to stay a little later before leaving. The campsite is surrounded by a beautiful woodland with several different animals around the site too. Facilities were great with showers and toilets all cleaned daily. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out, it never felt crowded even when there were lots of tents pitched. I’d definitely recommend to all!
