About Mowbray Meadow

Tucked into the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, this 10-acre meadow lets you wander and choose your own pitch – which means you can claim whichever of those sweeping 360-degree views takes your fancy. The ground is mercifully flat throughout, making setup straightforward, and there are composting toilets, showers and outdoor washing-up sinks on hand. Campers love the wild, peaceful feel and the generous space between pitches, while friendly resident goats add a touch of farmyard charm.

Red kites often circle overhead and woodpeckers tap in the trees, so keep your eyes peeled. You can light campfires as long as you buy fuel on site – foraging disturbs the wildlife. The Long Mynd's wild ponies are within walking distance, Ludlow, Stokesay Castle and Acton Scott Working Farm make excellent day trips, and Marshbrook village (five minutes on foot) has a pub and a café renowned for its cooked breakfasts. Church Stretton and Craven Arms are both under 10 minutes by car.

What visitors say

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this campsite and can’t recommend it highly enough. The campsite itself is beautiful and so peaceful. They even had the cutest little goats that were so friendly. What truly made our stay special, however, were the owners. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a campsite with fantastic facilities, a beautiful setting, the friendliest goats and some of the nicest owners you’ll ever meet, this is the place to stay. Five stars all the way. Thank you again, and I’ll hope to be back soon.

Amazing campsite. Little gem. A walk to the shower but in good weather well worth it! If you camp in first field composite toilets and shower closer. Family that greeted us so welcoming and a lovely dog! Couldn’t give you enough advice about the location. Charming little find! Loved it. Rough and wild xx

Wow, just wow, what a great site. A friend and I stayed with our two dogs for stayed for 3 nights in April and what a great time we had. Well located and such beautiful view. We really felt like we were amongst nature, which is exactly what I look for with a campsite. We had the whole top field to ourselves. We BBQ'd, sat around the fire pit and drank till late, all whilst the dogs ran around and enjoyed themselves. What a great place, we'll be back! Also, the pub down the road (5 mins away) is well worth a visit but booking way in advance is recommended!
