About Assheton Arms
Downham's quiet village setting, with the Lancashire countryside rolling away towards Clitheroe, is the backdrop for the Assheton Arms. This is a traditional inn with 12 rooms, offering a proper base for exploring the surrounding hills and farmland without straying far from a warm bar and open fire.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and family and accessible options are available for those who need them. Free WiFi and drinks in room add convenience, while the restaurant and bar downstairs serve as the heart of the place, with breakfast included and outdoor seating in the garden for milder days. Free on-site parking and 24 hour reception make arriving and settling in straightforward, and pets are welcome too.
Beyond the front door, the walking area right on the doorstep is a major draw, with golf and fishing also nearby for those wanting to fill their days differently. Further pubs, bars and restaurants in the village give a bit of choice for evenings out, and luggage storage is on hand for anyone breaking a longer journey through the county.
