About Carnon Downs Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite

Tucked into 20 acres of landscaped parkland between Truro and Falmouth, Carnon Downs offers the rare combination of genuine peace and brilliant accessibility - mature trees and hedges give each pitch privacy, yet the A39 is moments away. Reviewers consistently praise the spotless facilities, particularly the private shower rooms, and the generous pitch sizes make this a supremely comfortable base for exploring Cornwall's coast and countryside.

The on-site bar and café keep things relaxed when you don't fancy cooking, and there's a well-equipped games room plus playground to keep families happy. Three local pubs lie within walking distance for easy evenings out. While it's a Caravan and Motorhome Club site, non-members are welcome (members get discounted rates), and the helpful staff ensure smooth arrivals whether you've chosen grass, hardstanding or fully-serviced pitches.

Dogs get their own dedicated walk area, and the village of Carnon Downs - with its mini market and garden centre café - is just a short stroll away.

The shower blocks are immaculate and one of the best we have been too. Unfortunately the place lacks any atmosphere, the young ladies on reception are very polite but would benefit from knowing a bit more about the surrounding areas, ie bike routes. The children's park is excellent but no children around. The bar area is modern with a good selection but small with lots of large tables. Good mobile food vans on site on certain days. Grounds are very well maintained and the bus routes into Truro and Falmouth are excellent. Overall the site is a bit dull for a family but has excellent facilities and good transport links into main towns.

A lovely site with very large pitches and plenty of space. The grounds are very well maintained. It is in a good location with easy access to all of Cornwall. In our view the facilities on site have deteriorated since being taken over by the Caravan Club. We were in the yellow field. The showers and toilets block are in need of refurbishment or at the very least, a deep clean. The showers were quite grubby. The radiators were rusty. Some of the toilets did not flush well. The velux windows were permanently slightly ajar ((presumably for ventilation) but this resulted in lots of leaves in the showers and sinks. This was always our go-to site for early or late season, but we were disappointed this year, and have never seen it so quiet. The facilities are really convenient, and were well heated but are not up to the usual Caravan Club standards.

A very good camping site for caravans and motorhomes. The showers and toilets are exceptionally clean and are many around the site. Dog walks are very good. The reception and bar area are also very good. A very nice site and I highly recommend it.

Easy to get to but it is next to a main road so some traffic noise is inevitable. The site is huge but lacking atmosphere while it is so empty. Nice little shop and café on site but only open for a couple of hours in the morning. With so many options available now, I can't help but think if CAMC would only drop it's prices out of season, the place would be much busier than it is currently.
