About Gunwalloe Caravan Park
Tucked into a peaceful corner near Helston, Gunwalloe Caravan Park offers straightforward camping close to some of Cornwall's most dramatic coastline. The site keeps things simple – grass and hardstanding pitches, most with electric hook-up, plus the welcome freedom to light campfires in the evenings. Dogs are warmly received, and with showers, drinking water and year-round opening, it covers the essentials without unnecessary frills.
Campers appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and helpful owners, though a few note the facilities can feel a touch tired in places. What really wins people over is the location: you're minutes from the golden sands of Gunwalloe Church Cove and within easy reach of the Lizard Peninsula's clifftop walks. It's an honest, unpretentious base for exploring Cornwall's wilder southern edge.

This review should have published in August 2025, however, Google have just notified me that it failed to publish (Jan 2026). Here is my original review: Just come back from three weeks here and it's a great little site within easy access to beaches, Lizard and more. Claire is a fantastic host and nothing seemed like it was too much trouble. Offered us a choice of pitch due to making her aware our family was neurodiverse and needed a bit of space! The Overflow Field is peaceful at night and we got to see the combining and bailing of the fields. Pitches on the overflow are slightly angled, so we had our awning going uphill. Toilet facilities are clean and well maintained. Disabled toilet and shower facilities are a godsend! The initial layout seems a little "higgledy-piggledy" but you soon learn the layout and get used to it. Horses and chickens can be seen on site too! Reception has short opening times, but you can call the number out of hours. Longer walks from the far corner of the overflow field make emptying the toilet or fetching water a bit of a chore, but that's my only real complaint. I'd definitely be back in the future should we go to Cornwall again.

Claire was friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers good. Quiet site and accessible to so much. Great pub down the road😉. Definitely return.

Lovely little campsite. Toilet and shower block really pleasant, kept clean. Showers are hot and plenty of space. Has different size pitches, with the option of electric hookup. Site has a little shop with fairly priced bits that you might need. Owners are so kind, friendly and down to earth. Have booked to come back next year.

Good flat pitches and great shower and toilet block with nice washing up facilities. The one downside is the location in that there are no nearby public footpaths, so you have to walk directly onto a country road which is quite windy and cars drive quite fast. If you can walk along the road or drive out, the coastline is brilliant. The WiFi was quite patchy and unreliable. The campsite owner is really nice and it is definitely on the up, so would recommend.
