About Helluva View Camping

Perched high on Bodmin Moor's edge, this off-grid gem delivers exactly what its name promises: spectacular panoramic views that sweep across moorland to distant glimpses of the sea. Come sunset, grab your camping chair and settle in for the main event, then stay out after dark – this International Dark Sky Landscape makes for brilliant stargazing. The pitches themselves are genuinely spacious, giving families plenty of room to spread out, kids space to play safely, and everyone the freedom to set up firepits (available to hire) without feeling on top of neighbours.

Facilities keep things simple and eco-friendly: composting loos, a cold outdoor shower, and washing-up sinks. The nearby village shop (ten minutes' walk) covers essentials, while the local pub does proper homemade meals and local ales. Staff are friendly and full of local knowledge, helping you make the most of the moor's walking, cycling and riding routes.

Beyond Bodmin itself, you're well-placed for Cornwall's beaches, ancient castles and family attractions – though with views like these and such a peaceful setting, you might find it hard to leave.

We had such a lovely stay at Helluva View and even had the campsite to ourselves. The facilities were spotless and despite being hesitant at the thought of a cold shower we loved it, so invigorating and definitely woke us up! Lovely views and location and would love to return one day for longer. Thank you Kerry!

If you want a peaceful campsite with breathtaking views this is the place for you. It’s run by a very friendly family who made us including our two dogs extremely welcome. There is a village pub close by which we may try next time. This time we had a BBQ and made the most of the view. Very reasonably priced compared to lots of places in Cornwall. We will definitely be back.

Wow! What a little gem of a place. As the name suggests it really does have a helluva view, it’s just stunning. We watched the sunset over the coast with the moors behind us, perfect! It’s perfectly placed for exploring the coast and the beautiful moors, which is literally on the doorstep. Dog friendly with a great pub just up the lane, what’s not to love? We are so happy we found this place, we’ll definitely be back. Thank you Helluva View.

A fantastic campsite with a truly breathtaking view — definitely lives up to its name! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the charming Old Inn pub. There is a pizza van, a short walk away. These pizza are delicious and a must visit every Thursday evening ! Easy to find, peaceful setting, and ideal for anyone looking to relax and enjoy stunning scenery. Highly recommended!
