A well-placed campsite near Boscastle
About Tophill Campsite
Tucked into the clifftop farmland near Boscastle, Tophill is a small, seasonal site where the emphasis falls squarely on simplicity and scenery. With fewer than 25 pitches spread across grassy fields, it's the sort of place where campfires crackle after dark and walkers return muddy from the coastal path. Facilities are straightforward – showers, loos, washing-up – but the location more than compensates, delivering big skies and that particular North Cornwall sense of remoteness without the isolation.
Dogs are welcome year-round, and the site's relaxed vibe suits families and motorcyclists alike. A few reviews mention that certain areas can feel a little tired in places, but the overwhelming consensus is that the views and peaceful atmosphere outweigh any rough edges. Pitches start around £15 a night, and with Boscastle's pubs, harbour, and farmers' market only a short drive away, it's a solid, no-frills choice for exploring this spectacular stretch of coast.

What visitors say
So friendly we were greeted by the nicest gentleman. All very relaxed. We had booked and paid online. A decent size field, as the name suggests on top of.a hill, but good views and you can see the sea. However you are exposed on the hill so consider if wind is forecast However, these were the BEST campsite bathrooms we have ever experienced. So clean and up together. My daughter is funny about public toilets, but she loved these. They are limited in number but I only had a very brief wait once in a two night stay. Would definitely recommend.... We nearly went back as we forgot to take photos sorry I have no photos for the review.
