Carn Towan Cottages - Bishop Rock

Penzance sits on Cornwall's southwestern tip, a working town with mainline rail connections and all the amenities you'd expect. Head toward Sennen, though, and the landscape shifts—cliff-top walks, fishing villages, and beaches that draw surfers year-round. Carn Towan Cottages - Bishop Rock occupies several acres of shared grounds on a quiet lane, converted from a Victorian house and positioned above Whitesand Bay. The Blue Flag beach is a 250-yard walk away.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: a kingsize and a room with two singles. Downstairs, the living and dining space has a wood-burner and Freeview TV. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric cooker, dishwasher, full fridge and freezer. Upstairs is a bathroom with a bath and shower. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The grounds have a barbecue (shared), garden furniture, and a dedicated store for surfboards and other equipment.

Whitesand Bay itself stretches for a mile and hosts lifeguards in summer; it's known for good conditions whether you're learning or experienced. A steep private path leads down to the sand. Beach gear—surfboards, wetsuits, buckets and spades, windbreaks—is available to borrow. One dog is welcome, though there's a seasonal restriction on Whitesand (May to September); Gwenver Beach nearby allows dogs year-round. Sennen Cove village, half a mile away, has a pub, restaurants and shops. The Minack Theatre is three miles off, and coastal walks run toward both Cape Cornwall and Land's End. No smoking in the cottage.
