Chynoweth is a three-bedroom guest house on the grounds of St Merryn Park, a few miles from Newquay. You get the whole property to yourself: a main living room with a 43-inch smart TV, a second sitting room, and a kitchen equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are all included. The garden has a patio, furniture and a barbecue, and you can park two or three cars on site.
Bedrooms split as follows: one kingsize with garden access and a television, two single beds in the second room, and a third single bedroom. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. The property suits families or groups of up to five, though note that it is non-smoking throughout.
St Merryn Park itself has a bar and restaurant, tennis courts and open green space. Padstow—famous for its seafood restaurants—lies nearby, as do seven sandy beaches along the north coast. The Camel Trail, a long-distance cycle route, runs from Padstow through to Bodmin. Newquay and Fistral Beach are a short drive south.

Wonderful 7 day stay here, with Alison the perfect host. The whole place is very clean and you're made to feel welcome. The room was nice and clean and bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast which you order the day before is brought to your door each morning on a trolley. Well presented with all cutlery etc immaculately clean. Town centre, beach and zoo etc just a short walk away. Most of Cornwall attractions are within an hours drive. Car park is small but adequate if people park sensibly. Will definitely be back again.

Alison was a great host, very welcoming. Breakfast is brought just outside your room, no need to change out of your pyjamas and meet other residents in a dining room. The room I had (number 1) was a nice size. Location is very good, close to beaches and some main attractions (zoo and aquarium are a short walk away in opposite directions. Definitely would stay again if I visit Newquay.
