Tresco Farm Campsite

Great value for money, would say needs more facilities for amount of people on pitches. Some of the facilities needed some tlc but they were very accommodating on any issues. Not flat in all areas to camp so just worth considering if peak time to get there early. Great base to go out to places while on holiday in the car from this area.

As a belltent owner, very handy to save space, leaving all the clobber at home, and move into a pre-pitched one instead! Overall, great value for money; ideal location near to the A39 between Padstow and Newquay; beautiful countryside and beaches nearby; very friendly and communicative host (Jordan). Just enough facilities to elevate the stay above a tent in a field: shed with phone charging station, shared fridge & freezer; microwave and electric kettle; and sockets. The shared toilets and hot showers are very basic and rustic, but were kept clean and worked adequately. Very close to a handful of excellent shops and takeaways in St Merryn, which are walkable from the site (900m), but cars are very fast on the road, making it a little hairy. There's also road noise if you're close to the entrance.

Booked a weekend away in a bell tent, it was lovely and spacious as well as very clean. Located near a couple of shops, bakery, fuel station and a chippy. Overall it was a lovely stay but if you want to go to the beach, etc then it can be a long drive as it is located in a field out of nowhere. Also, toilets are for both genders and small so that was a down fall for us.

Great little rough camping field with basic facilities. It's not a holiday park, or a fancy touristy place, it's basically just a field. But that is definitely reflected in the price, and the fact that it's not overly busy even on peak weekends. The toilets and showers are basic but functional, with the slight cultural shock of the mens and ladies facilities being all in the same porta cabin with communal basins etc and a very small plank of wood sticking off the wall as a divider between that and the gents... We didn't have any issues with it, but could be off putting for some. The road to the farm isn't busy, but is fast, narrow, and has no pavements, so walking from the campsite isn't ideal. It's a few minutes drive into to village with an excellent little convenience shop, and only 5 minutes or so from a good beach. Bear in mind that parking at the local beach is £10 for the day, so you may want to budget that into your trip if you plan to do that often. There's also excellent access to many spectacular beaches such as Mawgan Porth (about 15 minutes away and £5 parking). Overall would definitely recommend if you aren't expecting too much. But as a seasoned wild campers most of our group considered the presence of any facilities a luxury, and therefore didn't mind the somewhat primitive nature of those provided. Everyone on site was friendly and pleasant, and the place had a fun vibe with plenty of slightly alternative vans, overland rigs, and bell tents.
