Bay Adventures - Boobys Bay

Photo: Trevone Bay Adventures

Bay Adventures - Boobys Bay is a ground-floor lodge in a holiday park at St Merryn, between Newquay and Padstow. It sleeps four across two bedrooms: one with a double bed, the other with a bunk arrangement (double below, single above). The open-plan living space contains a kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine, plus a separate sitting area with TV. A single bathroom has a bath with shower over. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; heating is electric central. A front picnic bench overlooks a small garden, and there is car parking on site, around 50 yards away.

This suits couples or families with young children who want a base for exploring the north coast. Padstow itself, with its restaurants and galleries, sits roughly a mile off. Several beaches lie within a few miles—Portcothan, Treyanon and Harlyn all offer swimming and water sports. Inland, the Camel Trail runs through woodland from nearby, popular for cycling. The property is no-smoking throughout.

Sam offers fantastic and very fun adventures from Trevone Bay. We went on a 3 hour kayak and coasteering adventure as a family of four (boys aged 13 and 16) and we all absolutely loved it. We spent some time kayaking along the coastline and between some rocks and into a cave and also scrambling up rocks and jumping in which was great fun. He clearly loves what he does, is a great instructor, very knowledgable about the local area, folklore and wildlife and a very nice chap to spend some time with. Highly recommend.

This was a great afternoon when in Trevone and Sam was a fantastic tour guide - 4 of us went kayaking with Sam (including our 2 children, aged 8 and 10) and the experience was amazing. We saw a side to the Trevone/Padstow coast that we never knew existed including seals. blow holes and lots of caves. Thanks Sam - highly recommended.

We went on the 3-Hour adventure with Sam and it was the highlight of our holiday. Sam has an excellent knowledge of local history, folklore and wildlife which made the day far more than what we expected. My kids (12 & 14) loved the scrambles and jumps, and were put at ease by Sam’s clear and concise instructions. I thought the trip was excellent value couldn’t recommend highly enough.

We did the Camel Estuary Kayak Tour with Sam. Absolutely brilliant, Sam shared lots of interesting knowledge about Padstow and the local area. A chilled out 2 hours, taken at the pace of the group. Thanks Sam.
