Cwary Vean
Cornwall
Mullion sits on the Lizard Peninsula, where the coastline drops into coves and the Southwest Coast Path winds past some of Cornwall's most dramatic stretches. Cwary Vean puts you within steps of Polurrian Beach—a sandy shore with shingle patches, popular for both surfing and swimming—via a private gate at the bottom of the garden. From here, you can walk to Kynance Cove with its distinctive serpentine rock formations, or continue to Lizard Point, the UK mainland's southernmost tip.
The cottage is single-storey throughout: a living room with woodburner and freeview television opens to a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and full-sized fridge and freezer. One bedroom holds a double bed (4ft 6in), the other two singles (3ft each). The shower room has a double shower. An enclosed veranda faces the garden, which is planted with established shrubs and has seating outside; a porch near the entrance is handy for rinsing off after the beach. Parking for one car is on site. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen, towels and woodburner fuel are included.
The property suits couples and small families; one dog is welcome. It's ground-floor only, which means no stairs, and the garden gate opens straight onto the coast path—no car needed for a day's walking or a swim. Guests must be aged 18 or over, and no smoking is permitted inside.
