East Rose - Tamarisk

Photo: East Rose

Tamarisk is a converted barn on the edge of Bodmin Moor, sleeping four across two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The ground floor has a double bedroom with ensuite shower and a second bedroom with two single beds, while upstairs is an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting room with freeview TV and DVD player. The property comes with its own garden and sitting-out area; the wider 4-acre grounds are shared with other cottages and include additional seating, picnic areas and a barbecue.

Families with young children will find travel cots and highchairs available, stairgates installed, and a fenced lake within the grounds (110 yards away). One dog is welcome. The property suits couples wanting space and quiet, or small family groups – there is on-site car parking, wi-fi throughout, and electricity and heating included. A laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is shared with the other cottages on site.

The site has a private lake for pleasure fishing, around 100 yards from the cottage, stocked with roach, rudd and bream. You'll need to bring your own tackle and bait, or buy locally, and an Environment Agency rod licence is required. The Moor itself is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with Delford Bridge nearby for walks and exploration.

Excellent cottage ( I stayed in Moor ). Nice and peaceful. Close to the A30, so convenient for driving. Highly recommended for 1/2 people.

Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend if you enjoy being able to walk out onto the moor direct from the complex . We've been here before and keep coming back. There are a number of lovely walks and we're about 20min drive from the coast.
