My wife and I stayed at Hillside Cottage back in 2022 for our honeymoon, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. It was our first time in Cornwall and we completely fell in love, with the area and with this cottage. The place has so much charm and character. You can really tell it’s an old Cornish cottage, but it’s been done up beautifully. It has all the little quirks you’d hope for, beamed ceilings, a cosy fireplace, thick stone walls, but also all the modern bits that make a stay comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped (we cooked in a few nights), the heating kept everything toasty, and the Wi-Fi was solid, which was great for planning days out. We stayed in the main bedroom with the en-suite, which was really comfortable, and the whole cottage had this peaceful, calming vibe to it. There’s also a lovely sunroom at the back that opens out onto a private garden, and we spent quite a few mornings out there with coffee and birdsong. One of the highlights for us was walking from the cottage to Mevagissey through the countryside, absolutely stunning views and so peaceful. We didn’t make it to the Lost Gardens of Heligan that time, but it’s definitely on the list for next time. And there will be a next time, we’re already looking forward to coming back for another stay. A big thank you to Sharon and Andy for creating such a beautiful, welcoming place. We’ve got such special memories from our time here.

Just returned from our fifth visit to Hillside , really lovely cottage well positioned for travelling around the area, would certainly recommend to anyone who loves Cornwall as we do. Hope to return in the future. Can't think of a nicer more homely place to stay in.

We stayed at Hillside after Christmas and into the New Year, and had a wonderful time. The cottage is spacious yet still very cosy - it was a real pleasure to return to such a warm cottage after cold and wet December weather. We visited as a family of four (including 2 children, 2 and 6 years) with my parents also joining us. The layout of the bedrooms is ideal for two families as it gives everyone a good amount of separate space. Everything you need is provided - kitchen very well equipped. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Our only minor comment would be for some slightly larger/thicker towels - the ones provided were a little on the small side (although I accept these are probably 'standard' towels, it would have been nicer to have some slightly larger ones). Location is good, the local beach is lovely although we didn't attempt the walk due to the weather. Plenty to do in the area. The decorations for Christmas made a lovely touch and enhanced a thoroughly enjoyable 5 night break. Thank you Sharon and Andy, we'll be back!
