Shark Fin

Shark Fin is a contemporary architect-designed house on the Mayon Cliff headland near Penzance, surrounded by National Trust land and overlooking two of Cornwall's most celebrated beaches. The building makes striking use of its setting: a 40-foot living room wraps around the landscape with seven sets of sliding doors opening onto a large decked terrace, and the views stretch across Sennen Cove towards Cape Cornwall, the Land's End Lighthouse and the Scilly Isles. From the top floor, bedroom 3 has its own Juliet balcony with the same outlook.

The house sleeps 6 across three bedrooms—two with super king beds and one with two singles—plus four bathrooms and a wet room, so there is genuine space. The ground floor holds the main living area with a woodburner and patio access, a kitchen with electric oven and hob, and laundry facilities. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Two travel cots and two highchairs are available. The property has underfloor heating (operated separately), private parking for two cars, and a landscaped garden with patio, decking and a barbecue. No smoking. Sennen Cove, a short drive away, remains a working fishing village with one of Cornwall's finest stretches of sand.
