The Lookout
Cornwall

Helston sits within reach of Cornwall's southwestern coast, where Sennen Cove draws walkers, swimmers and surfers. The Lookout occupies a clifftop position above this stretch of beach, reached by climbing 92 steps. One bedroom with a super king bed, a bathroom with shower, and a separate bath, plus an open-plan living and kitchen area make up the whole property. It's yours alone, and recently refurbished throughout.
The kitchen has what you need to cook properly—electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge. The living space includes a Freeview Smart TV. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included. There's an unallocated parking space in a private area. The property does not permit smoking. One dog is welcome.
From here, the Southwest Coast Path runs directly from the property, offering miles of cliff-top walking with the Atlantic in view. Sennen Beach itself is less than a mile away. Land's End lies half a mile further on. Inland, the parishes of St Buryan and St Just contain ancient sites and traditional Cornish architecture; St Just has a strong artistic community. Penzance and Newlyn, both working harbours, are within reasonable driving distance.

Porthleven is one of my favourite ports. This spot hidden behind the road is delightful. There are steps down to it and two comfortable benches. The metal statue is of the delightful old gentleman who owned one of the large houses set high back near the waters edge on the opposite side of the port. My late husband and I had the priveledge to get to know him a little during his final few years. We always stopped to chat usually in his beloved second language- french. (For some reason he kept thinking my italian husband was french so we played along with it.) He was a lovely local witty intelligent knowledgable and likeable . I dont know anything about his younger life other than he must have been some kind of artist or connected to the art scene as his commemorative statue stands as a beautiful testament reminder of him. The structure completely captures the essense of him; complete with his old jumper and bulging slippers. The place itself is perfect for him. He loved to walk around the immediate vaccinity of the port. This is a small intimate lovely quiet spot and is a special place. Perfect for enjoying the sea view in all its moods meditating or picnicking with a hot chocolate in hand .
