The Old Stores

This former village store in Mousehole has been converted into a one-bedroom cottage for two. The building retains period character—exposed beams, high ceilings and New England shutters in the bedroom upstairs—while the ground floor opens out as a single living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting room. A woodburner takes the chill off, and there's a roll-top bath positioned in the bedroom itself. The essentials—heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels—are covered, along with initial logs for the fire. One dog stays free.

Beyond the front gate, five steps lead down to a private walled courtyard with patio and seating, a sheltered spot for morning coffee or an evening drink. The harbour and beach are a short walk away; the village itself has a pub, cafés, galleries and independent shops. An award-winning restaurant next door will deliver meals to the cottage if you'd rather not cook. No children except infants; smoking is not permitted. There is a public car park 175 yards away. The Tyler Gallery is nearby if you're interested in local art.
