The Sea House

Photo: Mary Musker

Portscatho is a working fishing village on the Roseland Peninsula, with a sheltered beach, independent shops, galleries and restaurants clustered around the harbour. The Sea House sits above this village life, close enough to walk to the square in under two minutes but far enough back to feel properly private. Across the water sit the cliffs towards Dodman Point—views you'll see constantly from the house itself.

The layout spreads across three floors. The lower ground floor holds the main living and dining space, with a wood burner, plenty of seating and a kitchen fitted to actually cook in; large patio doors open onto a flagged terrace. The ground floor has a bedroom with twin beds, two shower rooms and the utility space. Upstairs, a master bedroom with a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom faces the harbour, alongside a second twin bedroom. The house sleeps six throughout.

Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. You have private parking for two cars and direct access to the terrace. No smoking indoors. The village square—with a butcher, convenience store, pub and restaurant—is a few steps away; beaches and coastal paths are equally close.
