Verbena Cottage
Cornwall
Verbena Cottage is a period building that has been sympathetically extended to create a spacious family home. The original 18th-century structure retains its character while the renovations have brought in modern comfort—the kitchen pairs traditional features with contemporary appliances including an Aga, and a large open-plan ground floor allows the living spaces to flow naturally from cooking area through to dining and lounging zones with views across the gardens.
Three bedrooms upstairs provide sleeping space for up to six guests: two doubles and one twin room. Three bathrooms—one downstairs, two upstairs—mean the mornings run smoothly. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered, and the utility room (with washing machine) doubles as a space for muddy outdoor kit or wetsuits. Oil-fired heating keeps things warm through cooler months. A private parking space sits to the front; additional parking is nearby. The gardens and terraced patio areas wrap around the back, furnished and ready for sitting out. One dog is welcome. The cottage is set back from the road in a village location, within reach of Portscatho and St Mawes.
