About Cotswold Cottage Guest House

Cotswold Cottage Guest House is a period stone property in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold, just off the main market square. It is set back from the road, which means the location is central without the noise that usually comes with it, and the square, its pubs, antiques shops and cafes are around a minute's walk away.

This is a small bed and breakfast run by its owners, with a handful of en-suite bedrooms furnished in a straightforward, comfortable style rather than a designed one. Rooms have tea and coffee facilities, televisions and free Wi-Fi. There is no lift, and as with most buildings of this age the rooms differ in size and shape, with some reached by a narrow staircase. Free parking is available immediately outside, which is worth a good deal in Stow, where public spaces fill by mid-morning.

Breakfast is cooked to order and served in a small dining room. There is no bar or evening food, but Stow has enough pubs and restaurants within a few minutes' walk that this is rarely a problem. The owners are known for being helpful with route planning, luggage and early departures, and guests consistently rate the cleanliness and the value.

It suits couples and solo travellers who want a central Cotswolds base at a sensible price, and walkers doing the Heart of England Way or the Monarch's Way, both of which pass close by. Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter and Broadway are all short drives, and Moreton-in-Marsh station, with direct trains to London Paddington, is about four miles away. Expect a friendly, low-key stay rather than hotel facilities.

We had a wonderful stay in Stow on the Wold last week. The property is situated in the perfect place, with plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs on the doorstep. We stayed for two nights and had no problems finding a parking space directly outside. Special mention goes to Ravi, who went above and beyond for us. We stayed to celebrate my partners birthday and having seen his birthday gifts in our room she left a card from her and the team plus a kind and thoughtful gift for him. A lovely touch! Breakfast is also well worth it - delicious! - served a short walk away at the Davenford tea room. Honestly, a beautiful stay and would absolutely recommend!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at The Cotswold Cottage Guesthouse—accommodations are very cozy yet modern with many thoughtful touches. Breakfast was delicious with wonderful service. The star of the show is Ravi, the delightful Guest Manager. Highly recommend staying here!

Jenny was amazing to deal with. Unfortunately, our plans changed and we had to cancel, but they were incredibly understanding, flexible, and accommodating throughout. We were so looking forward to it but hope to visit in the future.
