About Cotswold Carp Farm

Cotswold Carp Farm is a compact campsite on the edge of Bourton-on-the-Water, built around a lake with wildlife and open views. The size and setting make it a quiet spot rather than a busy hub – the kind of place where you notice birdsong and water lapping at the bank rather than neighbouring tents. Pitches are spread across the lakeside location with a stripped-back approach to accommodation.

Facilities are basic but kept clean and well-maintained: showers and toilets with hot water on hand. The team are hands-on and genuinely helpful, readily offering local knowledge if you're exploring the Cotswolds or just want to know where to walk. Toilet and shower blocks are functional rather than fancy, which suits the low-key vibe. It's the kind of site that appeals to people who want a genuine escape – wildlife watchers, quiet seekers, and anyone after a no-fuss break rather than entertainment and amenities.

Nigel

This is probably one of our most favourite campsites ever! Children aren't allowed (probably because of all the water) but that's fine with us as ours have all flown the nest! The owners are really lovely and welcoming, we stayed only for one night a few weeks ago during the Whit' week holiday. It's an ideal spot for walking into Bourton from the site and a must for everyone. However, please don't spoil the peace and tranquility of this gem of a campsite! Please note that the shower and cleaning facilities are very basic. However, they are spotless and clean but this for us hasn't and won't put us off revisiting this small and friendly beautiful site! Thanks again, Nigel and Claire 😊

Lovely & quiet campsite, only 7 min walk from town centre. Owner shared lots of tourist info, very handy. Toilet (4) & shower (1) block basic but very clean, with paper provided. Only allows a limited number of campers, so book early if you want to go! We will definitely go back there!

We are just home from a lovely 5days break. We stayed at Herons Nest which was lovely and cosy overlooking the lake! We have daily visits from the geese in the mornings which was lovely to see them wondering around the garden & lake. We couldn’t fault our stay and are already looking to plan another trip back next year! The accommodation was a quick 10min walk to the village centre which had everything you needed! We even found a short cut by the tennis courts which made it even easier to get back and forth (on foot). My partner had a lovely conversation with the owner about their interests which was nice he took time out of his day to stop for a chat, everyone in the village was so lovely we really didn’t want to come home!!

A small, very peaceful campsite in a beautiful location. The sanitary facilities are basic, but clean. Getting hot water is a bit inconvenient. Unfortunately, about half an hour after we had left the campsite, we realized that we had left our coffee percolator at the washing-up area. When we returned, someone had already taken it. It was very disappointing that someone chose to take it instead of handing it in or simply leaving it where it was. Sadly, this left a sour note on an otherwise pleasant stay.
