About Brecon Beacons Bell Tents
Tucked along the river Grwyne in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, this tiny bell-tent retreat offers a rare blend of wild seclusion and creature comforts. A two-mile stretch of riverbank invites early-morning fishing or wild swimming, while public footpaths strike out into the Black Mountains – perfect for serious walkers craving summits and solitude. Each tent comes equipped with a wood-burning stove, memory foam double bed, futon, and its own hot shower and composting toilet, plus there's a covered outdoor kitchen with gas cooker and electric coolbox for post-hike brews.
Access involves a short walk from the main car park (four-wheel drives can get closer), so pack light or be prepared to shuttle gear. Llangenny's country pub is fifteen minutes on foot along the riverbank, while Crickhowell's independent shops, butchers and cafés are five minutes by car. Local food deliveries can be arranged to arrive with you, handy given the remote setting. It's a blissfully peaceful spot, though that remoteness means you're committed to the hike in.

What visitors say
We had a lovely stay in the bell tent at the start of November. Four of us stayed and it was comfy and cosy. The facilities (hot shower and kitchen area / dining table) were great. The location feels remote - just the sound of the river and owls hooting at night - but it’s only a short drive to Crickhowell so it was perfect for us. We would love to come back!

What a beautiful place! Me and my family have just been here for a weekend away (gorge walking was our activity) and this was the perfect spot, all the amenities needed with the same sense of camping. We had our dinner and breakfast cooked on the open fire, we walked in the water, it's completely private and hosts left us to it (although just a message away if anything needed) the phone signal isn't very good there so need to drive to the top of the hill but this just adds to the peace and quiet. We will definitely be booking again, for a week next time!

Beautiful location, completely private, excellently and thoughtfully kitted out with everything you could need for your stay; even down to the little details. loved cooking over the fire pit next to the river and falling asleep to the sound of gentle water, even braved a little dip! The kids enjoyed a little bit of fishing (even though they didn't catch anything). Being in a dark skies area the stars where phenomenal. The tent was kept lovely and warm with the log burner and there was enough wood supplied to see us through the weekend, the shower was hot and refreshing and the compost toilet eco friendly. Will definitely return!

Really idilic location right on the rivers edge , good size bell tent nicely kitted out double bed , single bed settee, little log burner that is just right to take the chill out of the air , nice kitchen area with gas stove and fridge , good seating area under cover , nice fire pit, toilet and showers just a few meters away . Great place to get away for it all about 10’mins to Waitrose in Abergavenny lots of pubs around if you do to want to cook , well worth the visit for a few days
