Allonby is a small coastal village on the Solway Firth, where the beach stretches for miles and the village itself has a genuinely local feel—a handful of shops, pubs serving food, and a community centred around the seafront rather than tourism. Cosy Cottage sits just off the main street, a terraced property dating back 300 years, from which you can walk to the beach in minutes or explore the broader Cumbrian coast and Lake District beyond.
The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite shower, plus a separate toilet on the ground floor. Downstairs you'll find a living and dining room with a television and DVD player, and a galley kitchen where you can cook properly. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There's parking for one car on site, and one small dog is welcome. Note that the property has steep, narrow stairs.
The beach is 400 yards away, a pub is 100 yards down the street, and a shop about 200 yards. This suits a couple or two people who want a genuine base for walking and exploring rather than resort facilities, and who don't mind a village where things close earlier in the evening.
