Low Barn
Cumberland
Low Barn opens into a substantial living space that takes in the surrounding countryside. The ground floor holds a sitting room with woodburner, a kitchen and dining area with gas hob and electric oven, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one double and one with twin singles. The cottage sleeps four and comes with bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating throughout.
A patio from the kitchen leads to an enclosed garden with lawn and seating area, looking south across the fells. The property sits within Tottergill Farm's 48-acre grounds in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where red squirrels and pheasants are regular visitors. There is parking for two cars on site and a bike store. One dog is welcome, though should be kept on a lead given the sheep in the surrounding countryside.
Castle Carrock village and its country pub are within a mile's walk. From here it is four miles to Brampton, a market town in the North Pennines and a base for exploring Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District, and the quieter border villages between Cumbria and Northumberland.
