About Cairndale Caravan Park
Tucked at the foot of the North Pennines, this tiny gravel-and-grass site proves that simple can be special. Cairndale Caravan Park occupies a wonderfully quiet spot with big moorland views, hemmed in by not one but two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – and the Lake District National Park is only half an hour's drive away. It's a proper walkers' base, with trails threading through heather-clad hills to waterfalls and stone villages, though some visitors note the facilities can feel a touch basic for the price.
Stock up on supplies in Brampton (where the ruined medieval priory is worth a wander), or make the short drive to Cumwhitton's well-regarded village pub. Carlisle's restaurants and shops are twenty minutes north, while the Solway Coast's vast sandy beaches lie forty-five minutes west – perfect for tiring out dogs and children. The Ullswater shore and its scenic waymarked trail are within easy reach too, making this a genuinely flexible base for exploring three of northern England's finest landscapes.

A great find! Located in a lovely spot. Toilet and shower block clean.

A lovely little campsite that has a mix of hard standing for campervans, tents and static caravans. I like that it's quite small and also in a very nice quiet area with surroundings. It was great value for money and whilst the shower block could do with a bit of an update the showers were very nice and hot. Would definitely stop off again as it was about half way in our journey down from Scotland and not too difficult to get from the A1.
