St Bees is a working coastal village on the edge of the Lake District, built around a long sandy beach and dramatic cliffs. The St Bees Knees occupies a Victorian townhouse within a short walk of the shore, with views across the water from its upper floors. The whole place is yours alone, sleeping up to eight across four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread over three storeys.
Ground floor has a living and dining room with a woodburner, a full kitchen for self-catering, and a shower room. The first floor holds a double bedroom and a twin, plus a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Upstairs, a kingsize bedroom has an ensuite bath, and a four-poster double completes the sleeping arrangements. Each bedroom has a smart TV. Essentials including wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered; heating is gas central and there is some wood for the burner to start you off. There is an enclosed front garden with a sitting area and barbecue, and parking for three cars on site. One dog is welcome. No smoking indoors. The village has a shop, pub and café; the beach is the main draw, but the South West Coast Path runs along the cliffs nearby.
