What visitors say
I've been coming to Hollywood Bowl for quite a few years now, and it's always been an excellent experience. The customer service is consistently great, the venue is well laid out, and there's a good mix of arcade games, pool tables, and a bar area to keep everyone entertained. The prices are very reasonable, especially when it comes to the bowling itself. If you sign up for their offers, they regularly send out some fantastic deals. On my latest visit, I managed to get two games of bowling and two drinks for just £20, which I thought was excellent value for money. Overall, it's a great place for a fun day or evening out, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Popped into Hollywood Bowl Dagenham for an afternoon session and overall it was a decent outing, adequate and free parking with enough to keep us entertained and leave with a smile, though not without a small frustration that's worth flagging. On the plus side, the centre has several bowling lanes to choose from, and on an afternoon visit it wasn't overly busy, which made the whole experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. No long waits, no scrambling for lanes just a nice, easy pace that let us actually have fun rather than feel rushed. The bowling itself was good, the lanes were in decent condition, and there was a good enough spread of arcade games alongside the bowling to keep things interesting between frames. The amusement arcade has a solid variety of games and there was enough variety to mix things up nicely across the afternoon. Now, the one thing that genuinely needs attention one of the ticket-swallowing machines in the arcade wasn't working. For a venue of this size, that's the kind of maintenance issue that can quietly chip away at the experience, especially if you've been racking up tickets and suddenly can't cash them in properly. To be fair, a member of staff did step in and help sort things out, which was appreciated and showed good initiative but ideally, you shouldn't need to go hunting for assistance for something like that. A quick audit of the machines to make sure they're all in working order, particularly on busy weekend afternoons, would go a long way. The staff are generally friendly and the venue is clean and well-maintained , and the overall atmosphere is lively without being chaotic. It's a solid spot for a casual afternoon out, and the value is reasonable enough for what you get. Three stars because the fundamentals are good and we did enjoy ourselves but little operational hiccups like a broken ticket machine are exactly the kind of thing that a venue of this reputation should be on top of. Sort that, and it's a smooth four-star experience.

Attended their on a last minute when my daughter's saw it and wanted to bowl. It was a lovely family time there and the staff named Steve was very helpful and very supportive. My kids had such a lovely time as we were back from another event. They still weren't tired 😩😴 😂😆. There's fair amount of parking space and it's free. Drinks and snacks are good. Downfall - Food NOT HALaL. Veg alternatives. Oil is mixed.

VISIT DATE: SAT 06/12/2015 VISIT TIME: 10:45 - 13:00 VISITED WITH: Family After not going bowling for years due to the high costs, I discovered that Hollywood Bowl have some amazing discounts which make going really affordable, even in a large group. We’ve been a few times over the last two years, taking advantage of the EARLYBIRD50 offer, which gives you 50% off when you bowl before 11:00 on weekends. I’m not a morning person, but you can select the latest time slot of 10:50 and still benefit, so that meant we were able to bowl for under £20, with 3 adults and 2 children! This discount even works on the family bowling deal, which already gives you a saving of 5%, so it really is amazing value. You must purchase online in advance for these discounts. This particular visit was even better than normal as I won the game (haven’t played that well for ages) and I then enjoyed a couple of games of pool, which, again, I played really well in, winning the first, but losing the second. The other adults and kids in our group also had fun, playing some of the other games in the game area - air hockey is always a favourite. On this visit we had a couple of portions of onion rings and a bowl of fries, with soft drinks. The food is pretty basic but reasonably priced for this type of venue, which is also true of the soft drinks. Staff at the venue are friendly and helpful, it is well laid out and the noise levels are generally good, even in and around the game machines. The toilets, lane areas and tables are also kept well maintained. The venue is upstairs, with lift access and I’ve never known the lift to be out of service, which is reassuring for those who struggle with, or can’t use stairs. It’s also easy to navigate around inside and some lanes are fully accessible. Plenty of parking outside, which is free of charge. We really like it here and will keep coming.
