The Hope Valley villages cluster around some of England's most walked countryside, with Hathersage at their centre—a proper Peak District town with cafés, shops and a seasonal open-air pool. Cunliffe Cottage sits a mile out, at the end of a private drive on working farmland, giving you that rural quiet without the isolation. A guest cottage rather than farmhouse conversion, it stands entirely on the ground floor, which means no stairs and good access throughout. The owners live adjacent; their working farm means dogs must stay on a lead, but one is welcome to join you, and there are extras provided for them.
Inside, the cottage spreads across three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two bedrooms have ensuite facilities; the largest has a zip-and-link bed (either kingsize or two singles), while the other two offer a kingsize and a pair of singles. The kitchen is fully set up for cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher, American fridge—and there's a utility room with washing machine and dryer. A living room with a smart TV and wood-effect heater is the gathering space. Underfloor heating keeps the whole place warm. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and electricity are included.
The courtyard outside has seating, a barbecue and firepit, and you have private parking for four cars. Stepping Stones and the footpaths that define this part of the Peak are within reach. Castleton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are all under 25 minutes' drive away.
