Robin Forge is a barn conversion in Ashbourne with room for five guests across two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The layout is open throughout, with wood-panelled floors and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. A freestanding bath is the centrepiece of the main bathroom—the sort of place to spend an hour after a day's walking. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; there's parking on site and an enclosed garden outside.
Ashbourne itself is a working market town rather than a tourist village. The Cornerstone Coffee House is nearby for supplies. From here, the Derbyshire countryside spreads in all directions—the Peak District lies a short drive away, but the rolling landscape immediately around Ashbourne draws plenty of walkers and cyclists who ask for nothing more dramatic. The property is a whole place to yourselves, non-smoking throughout.

We had the most amazing morning with Phil in his forge. Myself and my partner both got vouchers for each others birthdays and Phil allowed for us to do the session together. He was very patient and on hand to offer advice and brews throughout. Phil is incredibly talented, knowledgeable and passionate about the craft. We both thoroughly enjoyed making our pokers and would like to return for more. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing time forging a knife with Phil, and learnt a lot about ancient and modern blacksmithing practices. He's a great teacher, welcoming and kind, and we had a lovely chat over a few hours. Phil was really accommodating in helping me to book a time, even when I had to change the time last-minute. I recommend to all interested in making things with metal.

Hubby and son had an absolutely brilliant time forging away for the day. Phil is an amazing teacher, so patient and helpful. Teenage son came home with a big smile on his face which every parent will know is a rare sight. Thank you to Phil for giving him a great and memorable day with his dad for his 18th birthday! An experience he said he will remember for the rest of his life. Highly recommend!!
