The sitting area opens to a mezzanine reading nook above, both furnished simply and comfortably. A newly fitted kitchen sits alongside a shower room on the ground floor, while the landing upstairs offers its own seating spot with views from a Velux window. The bedroom is bright and airy with a double bed; heating, power, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all covered.

Outside, a cottage garden with seating and furniture backs the property. The barn sits within a mile of a pub, with excellent walking from the doorstep across the Derbyshire Dales. Matlock and Matlock Bath are nearby—visit the Heights of Abraham cable car for valley views and woodland walks, or tour the caverns below. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within reach, as are the villages of Bakewell and Ashover. Carsington Water offers sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and cycling; birdwatching is excellent in the surrounding area. One dog can stay free; smoking is not permitted.
