Walking into The Mill House Barn reveals a layout built for groups. The ground floor opens from the entrance into a kitchen with marble worktops and a centre island, dressed in exposed brick and original features that balance old character with modern function. You can cook here, or the pub is within a mile and other restaurants nearby offer takeaway. The living spaces flow across the ground floor: a large sitting room and snug, both with comfortable seating, a log burner and TV for quieter evenings, plus games and books. A bathroom with shower completes this level.
Upstairs are four bedrooms: a queen (convertible to twin), a king, a double and a twin, spread across two floors. Two bathrooms serve the property. One dog is welcome and stays free; Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking inside.
Tideswell itself is a working village with amenities close by. Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock are short drives, each with their own pull—opera house, bakery heritage, historic baths. The Peak District surrounds you: walking routes across Mam Tor, cycling trails, Deep Dale Nature Reserve for gentler exploration. Chatsworth House is also within reach.
