Thorncliffe Cottage
Derbyshire Dales
Thorncliffe Cottage is a traditional stone terrace on a quiet lane in Tideswell, a working village in the Derbyshire Dales. The cottage spreads across four levels, beginning with a utility room on the lower ground floor. From there, the living and dining room occupies the ground floor, where French doors open onto a split-level garden with patio and furniture. The kitchen sits beside it with a full cooker, dishwasher and coffee machine. A bedroom with a kingsize bed and bathroom are on the first floor; upstairs again is a second bedroom with two single beds.
The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the woodburner. One well-behaved dog can stay free. The enclosed garden catches sun throughout the day and makes a sheltered outdoor space; there are steps within the garden itself, and three steps lead to the entrance. Note that the property is not suitable for children under five.
Tideswell has a cafe, shops and several pubs within a mile, some of which welcome dogs. Walking trails radiate from the village into the Dales; the Monsal Trail for cycling is accessible through Tideswell Dale, and both the Pennine Way and Limestone Way are within reach for day trips.
