About Hideaway Camping

Tucked into the Devon countryside near Broadbury, Hideaway Camping delivers exactly what its name promises: a proper escape into nature with stunning views and walking trails right on the doorstep. The pitch lineup goes well beyond the usual tent-and-caravan formula – choose from shepherd's huts, gypsy caravans, a converted Forest Glamp Bus, or even quirky Iglulu and Iglula domes alongside the cosy Little Owl Pod and an Airstream Ensuite Caravan. Campfires are allowed, adding to the back-to-basics atmosphere.

Families especially appreciate the friendly, helpful owners who clearly take pride in their site, though it's worth noting that pets aren't permitted. Open year-round with showers, toilets and drinking water but no WiFi, it's an ideal base for exploring Devon when you'd rather disconnect and enjoy the scenery.

The most incredible campsite we have stayed on. Set back in the countryside, you are totally secluded from life. Signal is spotty, no WiFi and pitches are very well spaced…. Meaning a truly peaceful break away. The amenities are clean, the communal cabin was well loved by our little ones and the quirkiness of the site was just awesome. The whole site was clearly made with children in mind, with nature trails and fairy gardens, we felt totally relaxed to let the kids run wild. The space of the site meant we didn’t feel we were imposing on anyone but letting our children be a bit feral. We extended our stay by an extra night because we were enjoying ourselves so much. It was 15/20 minutes drive to Okehampton, with many stores to stock up on supplies. The track in is very bumpy, but we took it slow and it was fine. The rabbits in the road meant you would want to go slow anyway! A fantastic trip away and we cannot wait to come back.

I have stayed a few times and always want to go back. The location is thankfully away from almost everything, the beauty is all around, the welcome is friendly, practical things are professional and efficient. It’s absolutely the BEST place to take your soul for nourishment.

I hired the campsite exclusively for my 40th birthday and was so pleased with our weekend. The site is wonderful for children. Safe enough for them to roam freely. The facilities are wonderful and we used the barn for a party which was great. We were blessed with good weather so spent the entire time outside eating near the communal BBQ shed, sitting around the huge campfire or seeking shade in the many nooks and crannies of this delightful place. Amy, Jenny and Eddy were all very friendly and helpful and the resident cats (shout out to Sushi) and dog are super friendly. I would highly recommend this place for camping, glamping and exclusive hire. We cant wait to return.

Fantastic location with stunning walks and views. The whole place is so soothing to the mind, body, spirit and soul. The hosts are absolutely lovely, so kind and helpful. The accommodation was fab, very creative, clean and peaceful, plus all the facilities were tip top. It was so nice to have a little brazier fire and sit under the stars with my loved ones. We will definitely be back again, in fact I didn’t want to leave xxx Thank you Hideaway for a magical time in your beautiful Faery wonderland ❤️
