About Treetops Treehouse

Perched high in the canopy of a 250-year-old oak on the grounds of a Devon hotel, this luxurious treehouse offers something genuinely special just outside Chulmleigh. The structure itself is beautifully crafted and surprisingly spacious, with proper amenities including showers, toilets and drinking water—luxuries you don't always expect when sleeping among the branches.

It's open year-round and family-friendly, making it a memorable base for exploring Devon's countryside and coast. Note that pets aren't permitted and there's no WiFi, which some might see as a drawback but others will welcome as a chance to properly disconnect. The treehouse works brilliantly for couples after a romantic escape or families wanting something a bit more adventurous than standard camping.

We stayed in the Lookout Treehouse over the Bank Holiday weekend. The treehouse was absolutely spectacular. It was so special to stay up in the trees and enjoy the sounds of the birds and sheep grazing. We loved the treehouse. It had everything you need to be able to cook breakfast, and the space felt both cosy and thoughtfully designed. The hot tub on the large balcony was a real highlight – soaking in it while taking in the beautiful views was incredibly relaxing, especially in the evening. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained, and it truly felt like a peaceful escape from everyday life. If you’re looking for something unique, tranquil and a bit magical, this is the perfect place. We would absolutely love to return.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay in this cozy place. The welcome basket was such a thoughtful touch. The place was spotless and you can tell they’ve thought of every little detail to make the stay comfortable. We especially loved the projector, which made for a perfect movie night. The coffee machine was also a great addition, and it was really handy having shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided too. The host was easy to reach and responded quickly to any queries we had during our stay. We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back!

Just back from a wonderful 4 days at Stargazer Treehouse. It was very well equipped and the basket of goodies and beautiful vase of flowers made us feel very welcome. We brought enough provisions so we didn’t need to leave the entire time and had cosy evening watching films on the projector. The hot tub and outdoor shower were warm enough to be used even in the rain and though weather didn’t allow for much star gazing, we did have one night with a lovely clear sky which was stunning. Ideal for a secluded getaway.
