We had a lovely stay at Northcombe Farm Shepherds Hut. After a freezing cold walk on the moors, we were warmly greeted by Tony and two beautiful, friendly dogs, the perfect welcome. We were so grateful that the heating had already been turned on before our arrival, and that there was milk waiting in the fridge for a hot drink to thaw out. We’ve stayed in a few shepherds huts before, but this one has definitely been our favourite. The hut is really well equipped, with a mini kitchen including a hob, microwave, toaster and kettle, plus all the crockery, cutlery and pots and pans you could possibly need. It felt like everything had been thought of. We especially appreciated the folder with Wi-Fi details and lots of local information, including walks and pub recommendations, as well as books about the local area. We love little touches like that, and it made planning our days really easy. The hut itself was cosy, peaceful and clean, and we slept okay. The bed was on the softer side for my personal preference, but I do like a super firm mattress. We would definitely recommend the hut for a little getaway.

We spent a couple of nights in the shepards hut. During this hot weather. No problem as the hut is in an open sided barn and was lovely and cool. It looks. Out into. Open wooded country side. The hut itself is great quality, well equipped and clean. Also you can park your car under cover. The location is a bit remote but your within striking distance of Roadford lake and Bude. If you want a nice quiet relaxing break. This could. Be the place your looking for

Great spot for a weekend away, gorgeous Shepherds Hut sheltered under a barn...close enough to feel you are on a farm, but separate enough to feel privacy. Really impressively fitted out accommodation that is so cosy on a winters night, but I imagine even better when the sun is shining! Perfect spot to celebrate our engagement. Thank you Tony and Marie!

Back from a lovely couple of nights away in North Devon, staying in this gorgeous Shepherds hut, the hosts are very friendly and helpful ,there is a lake for fishing as well . We also had some recommendations for places to eat from Tony (host) , we went to 2 local pubs instead of cooking and the quality and cost of the meals was superb, we went to the clovelly inn and the green dragon inn proper home cooked food . The location of the hut is perfect for just getting away from it all and relaxing.
