About Higher Rew Camping and Touring Caravan Park

Tucked into the South Devon countryside near Malborough, Higher Rew is a family-run site that wins regular praise for its welcoming atmosphere and spotless facilities. Pitches come with electric hook-up, and the shower blocks are consistently described as immaculate – a detail that matters after a day exploring the nearby coastal paths around Salcombe and Hope Cove. Dogs are welcome, and there's WiFi if you need it, though signal can be patchy in places.

The location strikes a nice balance: peaceful enough to feel properly rural, yet only a few miles from Kingsbridge's shops and the glorious beaches of the South Hams. It's the sort of campsite that does the basics exceptionally well without any fuss – perfect if you want a straightforward, well-kept base for exploring this particularly lovely corner of Devon.

Spacious campsite with lovely views and great access to Salcombe (25 minute walk to ferry). Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. Manager was super nice and helpful - thanks we will be back!

A beautiful site within walking distance of the SWCP. A quite site with easy tent pitches, all the amenities you need, kids indoor play area, adults indoor play barn and wonderful hosts, they bent over backwards to help out 3 tired hikers, thank you. Our experience was great, I'm sure yours will be as well 😀

Fantastic site. Facilities plentiful and spotless. Owners couldn’t do more to help. Pitches impeccably lawned and level. Short walk to South Sands (although a reasonable climb back up). All in a lovely stay.

The staff are delightful, very pleasant and helpful. The site itself is well located for beautiful coastal walks to Hope, Salcombe and East Prawle. The walk down to Salcome is steep, a cut through the woods to the left about halfway will avoid a steep road climb out of South Sands. There are plenty of places in the area to get refreshments and Overbeck Gardens are well worth a visit. The toilets and showers were kept very clean and the 20p charge no longer applies. Water taps are helpfully dotted around the site as well as at the entrance and the setup for waste water disposal and toilet waste is very good. Access via the lanes from Malborough can be tight, but that's often the way in the West Country. Our pitch was fine, some could do with a bit more levelling and more hardstandings with power points would be an improvement in my opinion. Overall this is a very good site and I recommend it.
