A family fun, small, quiet campsite for summer holidays based on a farm with panoramic views of Dartmoor.

About Holsome Park Camping

Perched on a working farm with sweeping Dartmoor views, Holsome Park Camping offers a peaceful escape near Totnes. This small, family-run site welcomes tents and campervans onto well-spaced pitches where campfires are encouraged – perfect for toasting marshmallows after a day exploring Devon's coast and countryside. Children love meeting the farm animals, and there's plenty of space to roam safely.

Facilities cover the basics well: clean showers and toilets, drinking water on tap, and a genuinely dog-friendly policy. You won't find WiFi here, which many visitors consider a bonus rather than a drawback. The panoramic views and quiet atmosphere make it an ideal summer bolt-hole for families seeking proper countryside camping without unnecessary frills.

Lovely campsite, very quiet and pitches are well spaced out. The view is stunning and your allowed to have camp fires using a firepit. The facilities were clean and well looked after. They have a family bathroom that you can all use which makes it easier with young kids. Also fridges and freezer to put food and drinks in. The owners have a little shop in the morning too where you can buy eggs, sausages, burgers, firewood and sweets. At 9am they let the kids feed the animals which is a nice touch. The field is windy though and there is definitely some better sheltered areas of the field, notably the pitches closest to the road and facilities. Had to cut my stay short by a few days because my tent broke. The wind blew it down and snapped the poles unfortunately, was down to my own fault as the tent wasn't put up very well (first time putting up a tent and didn't even know how to tie the guy ropes properly, something I need to learn!) All in all a great relaxing campsite, loved the view and peaceful experience.

We've come back time and again and love it each time. Louise and Graham are such kind, thoughtful and welcoming people, and children Seb and Ella are fully involved, offering free lamb and chicken feeding every day, running a pop-up shop and sharing their farming knowledge. Please don't be put off by any reviews about facilities - since COVID, they have added a beautiful new facilities block with 3 large wash up sinks with the best view you could ever want to look at - washing up was a real pleasure! There are 6 large showers with limitless free hot water, 6 toilets and a massive family change/disabled toilet and shower room. All kept so clean and fresh. There are free freezers and fridges and a cool station to charge devices in secure locked boxes. I really appreciated the big map of the area of outstanding natural beauty. The field is big and mostly flat, with a simple fun swing/slide set for children. There's lots of space to pitch wherever you like and still have space for some games. There are all the highlights you aim to find in Devon - stunning views, a host of lovely walks, easy access to nearby villages, towns and beaches. We love Mothecome beach but check opening times as it is privately owned but usually open. The farm is constantly developing and 'Farmer Graham's farm tours' are so interesting - a real added extra for children and adults alike - plenty of information about the changes made to the farming over the years. There are many changes made to add to the biodiversity and sustainability of the farm. Thank you Louise and Graham, we'll be back and maybe might even rent The Hideaway for our anniversary. This is the new shepherd's hut with log burner, hot tub and terrace. Total luxury for campers like us!

This was an absolutely ideal campsite for us. A large open field with stunning views, the option to have a fire and very calm and peaceful. The facilities are good and very clean. Louise who runs the campsite was amazing. We arrived only to be subjected to storm Ellen (Aug 2020). Louise couldn't do enough for everyone, checking everyday everyone was ok and if they needed snything. Highly recommend and we will definitely stay here again.
