The Lakehouse

We had an amazing 5-day stay at The Lakehouse and genuinely didn’t want to leave. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The facilities were excellent with the wood fired tub a real highlight! Richard was a fantastic host from start to finish. Communicative throughout or stay, he kindly allowed us to check in early and extended our checkout time, which was greatly appreciated! He also went above and beyond by putting in a brand-new BBQ for us to use during our stay, which was a lovely touch and really added to the experience. Richard also gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit, including an amazing beach at Bigbury-on-Sea and a fantastic café with great food. His hospitality was exceptional throughout our stay, even offering to pick up anything we might need from the shop when he was heading there himself. As a lovely extra, we were given a bottle of the gin that Richard distils himself to try during our stay, and it was excellent. Small touches like these really made the experience feel special. Nothing was too much trouble, and it was clear that Richard genuinely cares about his guests having the best possible stay. We would highly recommend The Lakehouse to anyone looking for a peaceful escape and would happily return in the future.

A lovely weekend getaway for my partner and I and the dog loved it too! You feel so secluded and relaxed and no need to leave all weekend! The Lakehouse is really something special and the lake and hot tub is reason enough for visiting. Richard the host, was very attentive, easy to get along with and makes you feel right at home. He supplied us with lovely Lakehouse brewed gin & even a bag of pasta that we'd left at home to make dinner with! The only thing I would say is bring your own condiments like butter, milk, ketchup etc as this isn't provided. Thank you for a lovely weekend, we would love to visit again in the summer!

Beyond amazing! - must stay! The lakehouse is beautiful, cozy, and a sanctuary of calm, and a space to really boost your wellbeing. You can take a dip in the lake if you’re into nature swimming. Or sit on the side and listen to the water trickling. There’s a hot tub too! The house has a huge log fire, a kitchen space with all you need to cook. The bedroom is so tastefully decorated and the bed is big enough for a family! A special mention for Richard who has been above and beyond, the best host. Linking us to so many great eateries in the area, pin dropping us places for amazing walks and made it extra special for a birthday visit. We will be coming back soon! Thank you so much Richard! You made the trip for us too.
