About Ruda Holiday Park
Ruda Holiday Park's greatest asset is its position right beside Croyde Bay beach, making it brilliantly convenient for families who want sand and surf on the doorstep. The site offers a good swimming pool with waterslides that keeps children entertained on quieter days, plus lively kids' entertainment throughout the season. Staff earn consistent praise for being welcoming and helpful.
With over 150 electric grass pitches for tents and tourers spread across different fields, there's plenty of space, and facilities cover the essentials including showers, electric hook-ups, and WiFi. Dogs are welcome. Some visitors note that the static caravans can feel a little tired and poorly maintained in places, but if you're pitching your own tent or van and after a straightforward, beach-close Devon base, Ruda delivers exactly that.

What visitors say
We arrived in the 29th . Was a positive atmosphere nice beer garden. There’s not much to do walking distance in the area other than one shop and a beach. We did drive down to wollacombe which was very nice but the roads to get to it are terrible. Good in the bar on site was ok. But a couple nights ago there was a hair in a chicken strip, food orders were out at very different times and not in the correct order. I did speak to a woman on the bar about the complaints tho didn’t catch a name but a tanned woman with curly hair who gave us all a free drink of choice which was nice so Thankyou to her. I’ve worked in hotels etc and the cleanliness of the caravan was not it. Severe mold on a bathroom blind. The bottom of the sink was on its last legs. The front door did t shut properly aswell as other doors. The sofa had stains and the shower would leak all over the bathroom floor. The pool was nice other than a lifeguard who had a face on him start to finish. 99% of the staff were lovely so cannot fault there. I have a very low immune system and from the mold in the bathroom which wasn’t seen till final day, it has made me highly unwell . The food places on site where never open and the chip shop on site is literally rated 1.8 stars will hopefully be looking in some money back or a free stay in one of there cleaner caravans as I know they have potential. Unfortunately got the end of the stick.

A very well maintained site, very quiet when we was here in June, our mobile was fantastic, plenty of room had a deck as well, my wife used the pool it's more aimed at the younger generation but my wife said our grandkids would have loved it, entertainment area was good had a really tasty meal here. Service was also good, friendly staff. It,s just a short walk to the beach but can be when the tides out a long walk to the sea, the weather was chaingable when we was there, windy as well so beach was all full of surfer's. There is a bus stop right outside the camp and it will take about an hour to get to Barnstaple by bus.

We stayed in one of the premium caravans and it was excellent. Hottub great and well kept, all fittings and fixtures you'd need and well decorated and kept rooms. Towels included. Someone came to check the hottub daily. We had an issue with one of the doors and drawers when we arrived and someone came to sort it within 10 minutes. Staff were friendly, it was efficient and well run. 3 restaurant choices on site, a small shop and a bar with food. Restaurants did get busy and run out of food so worth getting in early if you plan to use them. Location is absolutely spot on. A very short walk to Croyde beach and local walks. Beach shops all around for buying surf / water sport gear. The on point swimming pool gets booked up quickly so do book to avoid disappointment. Would go again.

Just enjoyed a lovely week camping at Ruda. Check in was easy with a dedicated camping check-in desk. We quickly pitched and went to the beach which is only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. Facilities were great. Two toilets blocks, one new and one "refreshed". The latter could do with being replaced soon to be as good as the new block but both were clean with good showers. We booked ahead for swimming so got into sessions easily. But it seems like when though all the sessions were booked, people waiting got in no problem. I didn't see anyone turned away. Pub and restaurants in site were good too and Croyde village is just a 10 to 15 minute walk away. I would recommend the food and drink in Billy Budds in the village too!
