About Surfer's Paradise Campsite
Just 60 seconds from the beach, Surfer's Paradise Campsite sits on a green meadow outside the Devon surfing hotspot of Croyde. The on-site surf shop makes it easy to hire kit and hit the waves, while local instructors offer lessons for beginners. If you'd rather stay dry, the sands are equally brilliant for beach volleyball, picnics or clifftop walks, and there's no shortage of family attractions nearby – from a dinosaur park to an aquarium and even sheep racing.
Picnic tables dot the site for seaside self-catering, or it's a 10-minute stroll to the village for pubs and cafés. Facilities include toilets and hot showers, plus guests can use the amenities at the larger sister park a couple of minutes away on foot: a games arcade, soft play area, fishing pond and indoor pool with waterslide. Some visitors note the campsite can feel a little tired in places, but the unbeatable beach access more than makes up for it.

Totally overpriced! Paid 25£ per Person for 1 night. We were 4 backpackers hiking the SWCP with two very small tents, still had to take 2 pitches for insurance issues, fair enough. So for a total of 100£ for this night, we got an unfriendly dude basically admitting, they are well overpriced, but as people are still booking, that's life... We also got disgusting showers, messed up in the evening and the morning as well, the "big clean" in the morning did not take place, as anounced. Water in the showers was hot, though. Also, no possibility to charge a phone or get WiFi. We have seen plenty of camp sites along the 1000km of the Coast path, and this was by far the worst, only competing with a Farmer in Mevagissey, charging 7,5£ for a Spot without toilets and showers. Would not recomend for hikers/ backpackers

Our group has been coming to surfers paradise for 5+ years. We travel from Portsmouth driving over 4 hours to spend a weekend with friends and surfers paradise has always been the most ideal campsite in terms of location and their laid back, “leave us to it” approach. Unfortunately, we are no longer planning to return to surfers paradise after this weekend’s visit. The campsite is now under new ownership, having been taken over by John Fowler Holidays, and the laid back approach has sadly disappeared, replaced instead with a heavily regulated atmosphere, overseen by unfriendly and, at times, aggressive staff. After a lengthy check in because the servers were down, we set up camp next to our friends, which we’d checked was suitable for the campsite. Others soon joined and set up camp nearby; after one of these friends had just finished erecting his tent, the guy who was working came out and told him to move his tent as it was in the public footpath; an area that had not been flagged to us on arrival or marked out on the site. Our friend has a 1 year old and was trying to find a way around taking the tent down and putting it back up again, and politely queried whether there could be a compromise; however, the staff member shouted in his face “are you going to do what I am telling you to or are you going to leave?” Up until this point there had been no aggression from our side and we were confused by the rapid escalation of the situation. Another friend stepped in to support and ask where WOULD be suitable to move the tent so that we didn’t have a repeat of the issue, but the man would not calm down and continued to shout very aggressively at our group. This seemed bizarre as we spent time at check in before we set up our tents checking where we could or could not set up camp and the issue of the supposed foot path hadn’t been mentioned. As paying customers, we felt his approach was awful and could not understand why he could not communicate with us in a polite, friendly and reasonable way. His immediate approach was aggression. Later on, another member of the group arrived in her campervan which she had booked (it is an option on the site to book a campervan). She was told campervans were not allowed on the site by the same member of staff. This was confusing because not only was she able to book her van for the weekend but also there were plenty of other vans on the site. She was allowed in after lengthy discussion but was not made to feel welcome. All in all, and unwelcoming and confrontational start to the weekend.

A fantastic campsite! Very basic but ideally situated between the beach and Croyde’s bars and restaurants. Relatively quiet even during high season so lots of space to camp. There is also on site security who are very diligent and we’re great at managing large groups. Would highly recommend!

Great location easy to walk to the beach and into the village and the pubs. The toilets, showers and cleaning station were very well kept and clean. Always had hot water. £2 to charge devices. Bit of a lively campsite so if you're a light sleeper then would recommend earplugs. Would stay again. Good value for money
