Perched on a hilltop with sweeping views over the Kingsbridge estuary, this fourth-generation family farm offers proper back-to-basics camping in Devon's South Hams. The setting is genuinely peaceful – just grass pitches, grazing livestock, and memorable scenery stretching toward the coast. Facilities keep things simple: hot and cold showers, eco-composting loos, and a mains water tap, though some campers note the site can feel a little rustic if you're after more creature comforts.
Location-wise, you're brilliantly placed. Kingsbridge's riverside pubs, independent shops and weekly market sit just 15 minutes' walk downhill, while Salcombe's beaches, gin distillery and watersports lie a short drive south. The South West Coast Path, Hope Cove's rock pools, and the golden sands around Thurlestone are all within easy striking distance.
Dogs are welcome year-round, campfires encouraged, and the lack of electric hook-ups ensures stars stay visible after dark – exactly what an eco camping escape should deliver.

Beautiful eco campsite with wonderful views over the estuary. The facilities are basic, as you would expect, but well maintained and very clean. The campsite is a very good size, so you will have plenty of space and is in a nice quiet location. The walk to Kingsbridge is only around 5-10 minutes, and Salcombe is only a 15 minute drive away, although you can also take the ferry as well. We had a great stay and the owners were very friendly, with lots of recommendations for places to visit in the local area. We'd definitely stay again.

A great place for those who like a quiet break with views and who appreciate simplicity , rawness and ecology 😍🏕️ Lovely owners, always willing to help and make you feel welcome 🥰 Eco toilets are really clean, showers lovely - just enough space to have a wash and get dressed, water not hot but warm enough!👌 So if you expect a powerful, steaming hot showers and sterile toilets, fragranced with essential oils… move on princess 😉 Also, a bonus of washing up liquid/dish rack/ sponges/brushes, toilet roll / soap / shampoo and shower gel provided 👌 And fresh eggs being delivered every morning 🥰 Brought a dozen of them home and they’re delicious 😋 Had a very pleasant stay, just what I needed 👌 Thank you! 🙏🏻🫶

Slightly sloping field, amazing view over the estuary. The shower and composting toilets worked very well, and the site was quite quiet at night, although not too many people there. About 15min walk to town along a back path past the leisure centre. Supply of eggs at the entrance with an honesty box. Really enjoyed it, very relaxing.

The location was perfect for exploring South Hams. Lovely view over the estuary. We choose the site as we prefer a simple pitch where you like field. It was peaceful in the day and night. Like-minded quiet campers. The facilities were as described. The eco compost toilet and hand wash basin was always very clean and topped up with hand wash, toilet roll and air freshener. Low light pollution so really clear starry nights. Short downhill walk into town for groceries, pubs, and takeaways. Would definitely return.
