About Marshwood Farm Camping

Days out rambling on rural footpaths or taking in famed local attractions, swinging home via the village pub and then back to the farm – that's the rhythm of life at Marshwood Farm, a family-friendly site on a working sheep and arable farm surrounded by the ancient woods and hills of the Cranborne Chase National Landscape. Guests love the peaceful atmosphere, dark skies and stunning views, plus facilities that punch above their weight: clean showers and toilets, a communal kitchen stocked with pans and utensils, and a fridge-freezer for campers to share.

Salisbury's twenty minutes away by car, Stonehenge and Longleat within half an hour, and the village of Dinton (pub, small café) just a mile down the lane. Firepits and barbecues are welcome – off-ground or in a fire bowl – and the small honesty shop stocks kindling, wood and basics like soup. Note that dogs aren't allowed on site, so it's one to bear in mind if you're travelling with four-legged friends.

Booked a tent spot for a night on my solo SW England motorcycle trip. It was so good that I booked the same spot again on the way back. Best campsite during my trip. Amazing farm atmosphere, surrounded by fields of sheep and crops. Facilities were immaculate and very well equipped. Hope to come back one day with my family. The host Catherine is super nice too.

Catherine and Marshwood Farm Camping helped to save the day before our local wedding in early June 2026. A day before our guests were due to arrive we found our glamping site at our wedding site was unviable, leaving us without accommodation for 30 guests. Catherine agreed to hire us a field on the day for the 12 bell tents and was completely fantastic - easy to deal with, a can-do attitude with suppliers who rushing to set up, and v hospitable to our guests. The site is lovely, sheltered and well maintained. We also had guests staying in her shepherd's hut and a glamping tent who also had a good stay. We may be back as guests one day!

I felt like the luckiest person in the world during my 24 hours at Marshwood! The sun came out, the scenery was amazing and it was so peaceful. Catherine was friendly and made me feel very welcome. She’s also accommodated me at short notice too. I stayed on a little camper van hard standing area, it was perfect. The campsite is quite small but very cute and well maintained with stunning views and very friendly chickens! Facilities are excellent, had the most amazing and well needed power shower. Highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely love this place. We've been coming for the last five years and every year Catherine somehow manages to improve on perfection. The grounds and well equipped kitchen block were beautifully maintained this time, as always. And this year's addition of fast WiFi has been really useful for staying connected. Loads of space. Surrounded by green. Dark skies and stars at night. What's not to like?
