After a little search in Dornoch, our navigation had some problems with the address, we arrived at this beautiful B&B. Tastefully decorated and very clean, large room with spacious bathroom. Owner very friendly and helpful. A walk through the garden of the B&B gives you a shortcut to Dornoch, a cute old Scottish town. Nice breakfast in the morning in a room overlooking the beautiful garden, where you can choose from all the delicacies of a good Scottish breakfast.

Great B & B. Clean and tidy, large rooms and comfortable beds. Lovely cooked breakfast courtesy of Alistair and large choice of cereal too. Yes it’s a bit dated but it’s an old property. Lots of character about it and set in lovely woodland grounds. For the price you pay it is excellent value for your money. Highly recommend. Bel and Alistair are very welcoming and great hosts.

On approach to the woodlands B&B you're greeted with an impressively imposing structure which will become your abode for the duration of your stay. We were greeted by welcoming hosts who showed us to our first floor room and explained the amenities. The B&B provides guests with free wireless internet access which is of great benefit to the modern traveller, especially as the mobile phone signal is very poor in this location. Upon closer inspection a few issues were discovered with our room. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off the wall and the shower door didn't close properly causing much water to leak out when I tried to take a shower. The effect of this can be seen in the warped bathroom floor. Additionally some large creepy crawlies were found including a big spider in the shower and a gigantic moth in one of the beds. The decor in the rooms is dated and could do with updating. The stay was rounded off with a cooked breakfast which was well prepared and served by our hosts in a continuation of their excellent hosting style. Overall it's okay for a single night but I wouldn't stay longer in that room.

A beautiful house and gardens in a beautiful situation, close to the town but still in a quiet and very pretty location. The owners Belinda and Alastair were very friendly and welcoming and their daughter in law Angie who prepared the rooms was so kind and helpful. I stayed at Woodlands with my sister Barbara for 3 nights, Alastair cooked a lovely breakfast each morning. My two Springer Spaniels were also made very welcome. We both agreed that we would love to return sometime.
