You arrive at Haycraft Cottage to find a detached Grade II listed building set back from the quiet caravan site, with its own enclosed garden and private parking. The front door opens into a characterful interior—exposed beams run through the rooms, and the living space centres on a wood burner in the lounge. There's a separate dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and laundry facilities (washing machine and tumble dryer are both here, along with a separate toilet). A conservatory extends into the garden. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a king, a double, and a twin, served by a bathroom with bath and shower.
The cottage sleeps 6 across its beds, with a travel cot and highchair available if needed. Heating is gas central, and essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and WiFi are included; the initial load of wood for the burner is provided too. The garden is lawned with furniture, roses and climbing ivy, and there's a portable barbecue. One pet stays free. Swanage and its sandy beaches lie nearby, as does the Jurassic Coast; Poole Harbour and Bournemouth are also within reach. The cottage does not permit smoking.

What guests say
Lovely cottage on a quiet country road near the seaside town of Swanage. Perfect base for a family or walking holiday with amenities for all. My only issue was with the booking company, Welcome Cottages who still have not bothered to make any effort to reply to my many messages, emails etc.. when a health and safety issue was highlighted during my stay. Any phone call was placed on hold for an untold amount of time which was totally unacceptable. Needless to say, I will not be using this company again to book a future holiday!
