Field House

My husband discovered the Coffee Barn whilst out cycling and was very impressed, so we decided to use it as a starting point for our morning walk. First of all, it’s huge with lots of space, a variety of seating arrangements including settees and it’s light bright and airy. In addition to the cafe there are also works by local artists and local produce for sale. It’s definitely dog friendly and even has some doggy items on the menu. Expect to be joined by a chicken or two during your visit! When we arrived we had coffee but managed to resist the delicious cakes on display as we planned to return for lunch. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. During coffee we noticed other customers eating and noted the very generous portion sizes so our lunchtime giant bacon butties (hot rolls) came as no surprise! I asked for gluten free bread and was very impressed to get 2 good slices of quality gluten free bread which was comparable to the breadcake my husband had. The staff are lovely and service is quick and efficient. This is definitely somewhere we will be revisiting in the near future. Highly recommended!

First visit but not the last one. Great walks from the door. Lots of seating. Food selection was good as was the food. Reasonably priced as well. Good for dogs, had a little dog menu as well.

Booked as a campervan for two nights on the camping field, , Friday and Saturday in April. Friends in 3 other vans were due on the Saturday but Friday was a solo camp for me. The coffee barn was closed when I arrived, although Juli was still pottering around in there so I let her know that I’d arrived and they I’d found where everything was (facilities are well signed anyway) got settled in for the night in the far corner of the field. Saturday morning I met Jonathan as he was doing the rounds and came to check I had everything, other than that you get left alone to relax without the usual listing of rules that you get with some camp sites. Fire pits are available to hire and whilst at first may seem expensive at £25, there is a drybox full of wood to just help yourself to whatever you need, The field is very well kept and mowed in lovely lines 😀, you can park/pitch where you choose, the only rules being to respect others. The facilities are BRILLIANT! Eco long drop toilets might not be for everyone but make perfect sense at this location in the small woods, and the showers!!!!!!! 3 lovely HOT and fast showers , two of which have no roof, showering in the trees is the best experience. The coffee barn is amazing too, we had a couple of pints of Wolds Way beer and a few nibbles, ordered at the bar and the attentive staff brought them to the table. Our “table” being a snuggly chesterfield couch and chairs in the sun under the glass roof section. We had an amazing time, just the right amount of freedom and professional, friendly hospitality. Thanks Juli & Jonathan. You have a real gem of a place. We will be regulars 😘

After exploring part of the wold Rangers way we stopped off here to re fuel. Super dog friendly with plenty of space even for big dogs! Blankets are provided so your four legged friend has somewhere comfy to relax. The food arrived quickly and was very delicious. The portions are very generous so I couldn't finish even though I enjoyed it. Licensed so you can enjoy a draft beer with your meal plus a small shop which does stock some treats for your dog. Staff were friendly as were the two resident dogs we met. Well worth a visit.
