What beautiful gardens! We went in late June when the waterlilies were flowering. Lots of benches and grassy areas to set up a picnic blanket. The fish are amazing and definitely worth visiting, especially with children - did for the fish is available for sale at the shop. We didn't eat at the cafe, but it looked very nice. Great place to spend a weekend afternoon

Lovely day out. Massive lake full to almost overflowing, with fish and beautiful water lillies. Great cafe which includes outside seating, that serves a wide range of meals and drinks. This is next to a small museum, but you might be put off by all the animals heads. There is also a reasonable sized climing and play area for children plus a shop selling the usual gifts. The gardens go well past the end of the lake and are sectioned off into smaller areas including the secret garden and the stumpery. Only a few areas are not wheelchair friendly. But there is plenty of other routes you can take if need be. Plenty of people said that they are return visitors who come to sit and relax in the beautiful surroundings, as there are plenty of benches to choose from.

Burnby Hall Gardens & Museum in Pocklington is a truly lovely place and a great family day out. It is peaceful, beautiful, and enjoyable for both adults and children. You can sit by the lake, relax, and watch or feed the fish, which makes the visit even more special. There is free parking for visitors, entry is paid, and annual membership options are available for regular visitors. There are no dogs allowed, so the gardens feel calm and pleasant throughout. I would definitely recommend visiting Burnby Hall Gardens & Museum.

Brilliant place to walk round, plenty of interest. Good for picnics and even sunbathing, weather permitting. Nice little cafe, even got a takeaway drink as they were literally locking the door. Pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Fantastic selection of water lilies.
