Rolling farmland and the Galloway Hills form the backdrop to Airyhemming Farm, a substantial detached house in quiet countryside near Newton Stewart. The surrounding area opens onto the Machars Peninsula, with rugged coastline, sandy beaches and small ports within reach; Logan Botanical Gardens and the Mull of Galloway are among the better-known attractions nearby. The village of Glenluce has shops and pubs.
The farmhouse spreads across a main building and a separate annexe, sleeping up to 18 across seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. The ground floor holds a living room with a 50" TV, a kitchen with an Aga and electric cooker, and a sun room overlooking the gardens. Upstairs are further bedrooms; the annexe contains a seventh with its own shower room. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included, along with heating and electricity. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
Outside, an enclosed garden has a hot tub for six, a fire pit, pool table, patio and terrace. The river running through the property offers private brown trout fishing. This is somewhere to accommodate large groups—extended families or friends gathering together—with the space to spread out and the outdoor entertainment to keep everyone occupied.

It was nice, but we were the first in after covid and it wasn't that bad, but there were a few spots. If you don't like bats then that area is probably not for you😆😆😆 Overall lovely, hot tub was nice, lovely river for fishing, would go again👍👍👍

Just back from an outstanding weekend staying in Airyhemming Farmhouse. We travelled as a family of 10. Honestly can’t fault a single thing. Plenty of living area, spacious and comfortable bedrooms with plenty of kitchen space should you need to use it. The hot tub was about 20 yards from the house in a separate covered area. No more wet children constantly running in and out of the house!!! There are plenty of shops and restaurants less than 15 mins drive away so it’s not completely in the wilderness, but secluded enough for you to enjoy the peace and quiet. I’ll be returning early next year.

Just want to say we’re into our last day of our weeks holiday, visiting my mother who lives in Stranraer, the place and the setting is absolutely beautiful with lovely views down the valley and across the hills although the place sleeps eight, we booked it just for myself and my wife and the two dogs. love the idea of having a pool table and a hot tub for the evening which we used every day. Highly recommend.

We have just spent a wonderful family holiday here. The house is beautifully proportioned and the giant handmade kitchen table was a great focal point for meals. The welcome pack upon arrival didn't last long as the cake went down with a nice cup of tea ! It is quiet and peaceful and a great place to come to in order to relax. The views of the surrounding countryside are stunning. The Hot Tub was well used. The addition of the pool table came as a surprise and we loved making use of it. Before we left, we had already discussed how we would love to stay here again. The owner was so helpful and we will recommend this holiday retreat to friends and family now that we are back home.
